This page was a lot of fun, lots of steps. I've always loved this picture of my son. He and dog get so rough, especially when she still had a lot of puppy in her.

Daddy's Bridge

I love making lay outs that incorporate a lot of techinques. For this one I used a Fiskars Slim Line punch for the notebook paper edge, a ribbon punch and a Martha Stewart checkerboard under the cars. Under the "pull" on the cardboard box is a button to push for the audio. I do not have the tech savy to load the clip. It is my son explaining what his dad does at the bridge. Maybe some day I soon I will figure it out.

McMillan, OK

I have done another heritage page with old photos from my dad. The photos required a lot of explanation so I expanded to a two page layout, then broke the journaling into columns to make it easier to read. I used Plantain Schoolbook for the title and Nifty Fifties for the embellishments. The papers are from Cosmo Cricket - Circa 1932 collection. The second from bottom background paper was torn all the way around, inked with a Tim Holtz Black Soot distress ink pad then lightly sprayed with water which blurs the edges. While still damp I turned up the edges to form a frame for the photos. I love doing this type of page and trying out different techniques.

I recently received these pictures of my father that were taken while he was serving in the Navy on Okinawa. I had a lot of fun with the page. I used Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 collection for the papers and chipboard. The "chits" are from the time frame, U.S. military personnel used it as currency.

My pages usually use copies of pictures but in this case they are originals. They are better off surrounded by all acid free products than stuffed in the suitcase where they've been for 65 years.

The outside edges are all inked. The "graph" paper was inked generously on both side with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Black Soot. Then the edges were lightly sprayed with water and curled slightly.

I made the partial wing and propeller by using a silver iron on metallic sheet. The pieces were cut with a Cricut using George then I used black alcohol ink to cover the silver. I left the high points with very little color for the effect of the blades being raised in the middle. Mini Monograms with the circle option make up Circa.

One of the edges was border punched one using a new E.K. Success Slim Edger that looks like plaid and
